WOW Cap Istanbul: Lufthansa finishes in tenth place out of 26

A 1590-mile long race, but also a fantastic voyage offering some
beautiful sights.
After setting out from Hyères on 19th September and sailing five exciting legs in the Mediterranean, the 26 Figaro racers reached Istanbul in the rain on the evening of Wednesday 13th October. While everyone was keen to win a leg, they all enjoyed some wonderful scenery along the way: The French Riviera, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, the Greek islands, Turkey and the Bosphorus.
Ronan Treussart on Lufthansa stood out in particular. At three of the five starts, Lufthansa rounded the first buoy in the lead. In Greece, unfortunately some severe gales were to thwart his plans: his spinnaker was completely ripped and he dropped back in the rankings at a strategically important moment.
But the goal was achieved, as Lufthansa finished in the Top 10.
