Off to Istanbul! The start from Hyères on 19th September

The Cap Istanbul will count as the final of the French offshore racing championship

With five demanding and technically challenging legs between Hyères, Ragusa (Sicily), Athens (Greece), Didim, Bozcaada and finally Istanbul (Turkey), the only Mediterranean race from west to east is once again a top class sporting event.
Ahead of the skippers, the first two legs lasting four days will be followed by three legs that could only occur in the Cap Istanbul, bringing together the riches of old mythology and a real slalom between the islands in the Aegean Sea. The finishing stretch in front of the Blue Mosque on the Bosphorus is bound to be a memorable moment. It is in this unique setting that the winner of the 2010 event will be decided.

But the 2010 Cap Istanbul, the fourth stage in the 2010 Figaro circuit, will not only crown the winner of this event. With its status as Final of the French Single-handed Offshore Racing Championship, it will also be determining who was the top racer of the whole of the season. With everyone getting closer and closer in terms of their level, there are certainly a large number of contenders this year.

With a total length of 1590 nautical miles, the Cap Istanbul will be taking place from 17th Sept to 13th Oct.
