Quiberon Solo: Lufthansa finishes 6th out of 36
This photo was taken just a few seconds before crossing the finishing line off Port Haliguen (Quiberon peninsula) at 09:42 on Friday, 18 June at the end of the fifth and final long leg, which covered 140 nautical miles and took 18 hours and 30 minutes with winds of force 3 to 4.
Results for Ronan Treussart / Lufthansa for the entire Quiberon Solo: Race 1 - 4th, race 2 - 5th, race 3 - 25th, race 4 - 13th, race 5 - 9th.
“Overall, I am extremely happy with our race results. Sixth place in this field of Figarists is a good performance. Of course, I am still very disappointed with the third leg during which the winds died down completely, leaving us unable to decide much… In any case, this sixth position is a good start in terms of the upcoming events,” said Ronan Treussart, skipper of the Lufthansa Sailing Team, upon his arrival.
The Quiberon Solo is one of the three events making up the French Single-Handed Offshore Racing Championship. The next challenges: the “Solitaire du Figaro” (departs from le Havre on 27 July), then the “Cap Istanbul” (leaves for Istanbul from Hyères on 19 September).
