Deauville International Week - Deauville: 4-7 June, 2009

What an emotional week at the Deauville International Week!

Brilliant sunshine, unpredictable currents, changeable winds: each regatta brought a myriad of thrills and exciting moments. Featuring close competition and an amicable atmosphere, the week saw experienced professionals competing against amateurs who were none the less motivated to bring home a win.
The first race of this kind in Europe for Longzte Premiers, all those up for challenging the competitors with international sponsors were allowed to participate.

Each team was able to put its crew to the test on Normandy's waters over ten superb laps. Nicolas Bérenger (Kone Monospace) snatched first place in the battle against amateur skipper Eckhard Kaller on Brokerline 3 who took second place. Luc Gellusseau (Lufthansa) meanwhile managed an encouraging fourth place, which led to his placing second in the overall classification of the Longtze European Tour. Despite this, the week was more synonymous for team spirit, sharing and putting on a show, than entering into a frenzied naval battle.

The next leg will be held in Zeebrugge in Belgium on 4-6 September, 2009, at the Light Vessel Race.
