Happy ending: Lufthansa wins the 2009 Longtze European Tour!
At the start of the Longtze Bodensee Cup, the fifth and final event in the Longtze European Tour, 3 teams were still battling for the title… At the end of the day, only one could triumph.
The water in Kreuzlingen seemed calm, but had a few surprises in store for the Lufthansa Longtze Team: squalls, sunshine and even some hail! The teams didn't have an easy time of things, but the competition proved more exciting than ever and the suspense extreme: at the last buoy, there were still two boats in the running for the top position in the Longtze European Tour!

Light Vessel Race - Zeebrugge: 4-6 September, 2009
Hold course for the Light Vessel Race!
The wind was up during the 4th leg of the Longtze European Tour. The teams hoisted their sails beneath leaden skies before the sun finally came out on Sunday afternoon for the last event of the weekend. These changeable weather conditions did not put a dampener on the teams battling it out on the water who were able to prove their technical capabilities and coordination.
Indeed, the competition was a close one, performances of an excellent quality and the atmosphere amicable throughout.

Brilliant sunshine, unpredictable currents, changeable winds: each regatta brought a myriad of thrills and exciting moments. Featuring close competition and an amicable atmosphere, the week saw experienced professionals competing against amateurs who were none the less motivated to bring home a win.
The first race of this kind in Europe for Longzte Premiers, all those up for challenging the competitors with international sponsors were allowed to participate.

A rare sight at the GPEN: Lufthansa encounters a dolphin
No, it isn't a trick – and no, we not in Miami...
A pair of dolphins live close to the Ecole Navale de Lanvéoc's base in the départment of Finistère where the Grand Prix de l’Ecole Navale is held. It was at the end of the second day of racing that we came across one of the amiable residents of this protected stretch of water.
The Lufthansa Longtze Team crossed paths with it on several occasions, and the creature even ended up following the boat all the way back to the port...

First joint 1st place in the overall classification!
What a fantastic regatta! Beautiful weather, plenty of wind, exceptional water conditions, sport like one would like to see it more often – in short, a combination of exactly the right ingredients perfectly blended for a superb weekend on the water. The close race during this 8th Grand Prix was full of exciting twists and turns. The Longtze Premier teams mainly used tactics and strategy, which led to big days of regattas featuring bow-to-bow racing.

The Primo Cup in Monaco – The first event and inauguration of the 2009 Longtze European Tour!
The Longtze are to meet in the Principality of Monaco on 12-15 February for the 25th Primo Cup Trophée Crédit Suisse, the inaugural event of the 2009 Longtze European Tour.
This will be the first event to bring together so many boats in the Longtze Premier class. The event shall be attended by countless talented sailors including Guillaume Florent (Beijing Olympic medallist), Nicolas Béranger (Koné), Erwan Tabarly (Athema), Stéphane Christidis, Marc Emig and of course Luc Gellusseau, skipper of the Lufthansa Longtze Team.

The first regatta of the Longtze European Tour is due to take place in just a few days’ time, hence it was high time the boat was tested under real-life conditions!
And so it was that the boat entered the water for the first time this morning in Monaco’s port.
This first run took place under ideal conditions: a glassy sea, brilliant sunshine and with plenty of motivation to spare…
We can confirm that the team is now 100% ready for the first race of the Longtze European Tour, the highly-regarded Primo Cup!
